Acoustical ceiling clouds are an excellent sound treatment and sound absorption option for large rooms with high ceilings much like the acoustical baffles. Soundproofing a large open room with a high ceiling is the best application for acoustical ceiling clouds that has a better aesthetic appeal than acoustical baffles. Acoustical ceiling clouds use sound absorption to dampen the reverberating sounds (also known as echoes) in a large open space such as a lobby or hall. As sound reflects off of the many surfaces in a large area, it travels through the ceiling area where the acoustical ceiling clouds deaden or dampen the sound and thus, provide less reverberation or echoes in that room.
Acoustical ceiling clouds are one of many sound treatment and soundproofing methods and products to treat acoustics. Aside from treating sound with acoustical ceiling clouds, you can also treat sound with acoustical ceiling panels, acoustical wall panels and other acoustical products found here on this site.
